Pursuant to Public Contracts Code Section 22000, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is compiling its Informal Bidding List for Fiscal Year 2019 (July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019) for construction public works projects as specified in the Public Contracts Code 22032.

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is dedicated to ensuring full and open competition and equitable treatment of all potential bidders/proposers. It is the policy of the District to ensure nondiscrimination in the award and administration of all contracts and to create a level playing field on which Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) can compete fairly for contracts and subcontracts relating to the District’s construction, procurement, and professional services activities. Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) and Small Business Outreach Events
Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is an active partner of the Business Outreach Committee (BOC) comprised of many of our Bay Area Transit partners. The Business Outreach Committee (BOC) hosts several events throughout the year to assist and encourage small business enterprises and disadvantaged business enterprises to do business with government agencies. The next sponsored event is the “Meet the Primes” event on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 8:30AM – 1:00PM at the Joseph P. Bort MetroCenter located at 101 8th Street, Oakland, CA 94601.
The purpose of this event is to:
- Provide an opportunity for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) to meet with primes and public transportation agency staff in the Bay Area.
- Provide an opportunity for prime contractors to outreach face-to-face to the DBE and SBE community.
- Engage the DBE and SBE community in current and upcoming contracting opportunities at various Bay Area transportation agencies.
